What We Do

Powerful Connections for Every Home and Business

First: THE ESSENTIALS

What is an IXP?

An Internet Exchange Point (IXP) is a physical network facility that acts as a local meeting hub for independent networks.

Instead of sending data all the way through expensive international internet routes, networks connected to LEBIX can swap data directly here in Lebanon.

Participating networks connect their routers to a common switching platform in Beirut, meaning traffic destined for another local network passes through our exchange in mere milliseconds

Second: The Benefits

Why Join LEB-IX?

Direct peering at an exchange point provides profound advantages for both network operators and end-users, bypassing expensive international routes to ensure faster load times, better bandwidth usage, and greater community collaboration

Lower Latency

Because data travels a much shorter distance within the country, websites, applications, and online services load significantly faster

Cost Savings

Members save heavily on expensive international bandwidth costs by exchanging their domestic traffic locally

Improved Bandwidth & Speeds

Routing local traffic through LEB-IX frees up critical capacity on international links, allowing for better usage of global bandwidth

Greater Resilience

Even if international internet links go down or become highly congested, local connectivity through LEB-IX keeps domestic services running and reachable

Community Collaboration

The exchange encourages cooperation among local telecom operators, content providers, and enterprises, strengthening the entire Lebanese internet community

Secure & Neutral Platform

Participating networks can exchange traffic efficiently and securely on a strictly neutral platform, without any interference in private business relationships or peering agreements

How To Connect

Join Lebanon's peering community in three straightforward steps:

Apply & Review

Verify your ASN and public IP eligibility, then sign the membership agreements.

Technical Setup

Arrange a cross-connect at the Berytech facility and configure your IP/BGP settings.

Go Live!

Test your connection with our NOC team, begin exchanging traffic, and monitor your new local routes.
